Hello my name is Jocelin Flores. I’m a first year college student on the pacific coast, majoring in business. As of right now I am taking a Principles of marketing course, I decided to take this course out of all the others because I want to focus on marketing and social media. I don't know if I want to also incorporate sales, it would be very nice to have both knowledge in marketing and sales, but that's for future me to decide. There is just something about this career that excites me and makes me want to keep going. I like that I can have that fifty-fifty time working with people and working in an office. Anyone who knows me in person knows I love talking and meeting people, but my social battery eventually empties out and I need a recharge, some peace and quiet alone time does the trick. That is why I know this job is going to work out  perfectly for me. 

Allow me to take a step back and explain the things I am most interested in learning about marketing, I would say are neuromarketing, consumer behavior, brand storytelling, emerging technologies, psychology of colors and design and deep diving in FOMO, fear of missing out.  I have looked into each and every one of these and they all just fascinate me. 

STRAWBERRY CUPCAKES 

 First I want to tell you a little bit about me, like I already said I'm a first year college student, first generation too! I dedicate a lot of my time to school and work but when I get those little long awaited breaks or once I am done with all my work. I like to spend my time with family, self care and sports. I love baking, but I don't do it often because I think I'm still  lacking a lot of skill. I usually only do latin desserts, sometimes I throw in a little something different. I have been baking since I was six, maybe eight, I started helping my dad here and there and then I discovered “Betty Crokers cake mix” and started on my own. I eventually started from scratch. I sell some here and there, I am also a pastime bouquet maker.

To even out the pastries, I do lots of cardio. I would say it's my favorite.  I love going on walks alone or with family or friends. Whether that means on the beach, up a mountain, around parks or even on the treadmill. My family and I usually do two to three big hikes a year but we have had to skip them lately because we got a new addition to our family recently so once the baby is older we will resume. 

HIKING ST.MARY'S

Soccer and volleyball are my favorite sports. I have been playing since I was little, my dad, grandpa and my uncle were the ones who inspired me the most. Any chance we get you’ll see us on the field or court. A match we keep replaying is the 2018 world cup Germany vs Mexico. It is by  far my favorite. 

As you can probably already tell, I spend a lot of my time with my family, I have my parents, two younger brothers, a cat named lieo who we’ll just describe as “fluffy”,  nine cousins ,my grandma, two uncles and one aunt all who live really close to me. Like everyone we all need alone time and I like to spend my time reading, mostly roms and mystery. Once I pick up a good book you won't see me put it down. I've read it at least two times. I love writing, there is just something about it that makes my heart smile. I enjoy writing poems and stories inspired by my life so it's rare when I allow someone to read them. Either reading or writing a cold rainy or snowy day home alone or in my freshly cleaned room is a dream. 

I could write so much more but for now that is just a little bit about me, I    am probably going to write more here so stay tuned!
